The Opportunity
As the Principal Consultant, Utility Customer Programs , you will have the opportunity to deliver and drive sales on Utility Transformation projects primarily focused on Customer Experience, Customer Service and Billing, Advanced Metering Infrastructure, and Operational Technologies.
The successful candidate will be well versed in utility Customer Program trends, Customer Engagement and Channel Management, Customer Business Processes, Customer Requirements, Customer trends, Oracle, and other Customer technologies as well as understanding decarbonization and how it impacts the Customer space. With proven experience selling and delivering Customer projects through all phases of the engagement – analyses, design, build, test, run. This role is client-facing and expected to lead projects and programs working across project teams and utility organizations. Travel as needed to various client sites.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support business development and sales activities including delivering sales presentations promoting the company’s Customer capabilities and the value of such capabilities
Develop and manage client relationships and when required challenge client’s current strategy and direction through persuasive argument
Responsible for delivering value-driven Customer projects implementations leading a team, using defined project management methodology including managing expectations within defined scope of the engagement.
Developing deliverables including overall Project Plans, Project Strategy, Change Management Strategy, Testing Strategy, and delivering overall projects.
Contribute to quality review on Customer engagements
Further extend company’s applicable knowledge base and capabilities by updating best practices to redefine tools and techniques
Outline specific performance measures, targets, and goals to articulate the business case for realized efficiencies or added value
Define competitive advantage and achievable value to the client through use of the strategic change components and metrics
Knowledge Capability:
Understanding of the trends in the Customer space
Contract Management
Project Management
Proven delivery capability using defined project management capabilities and teams
Manage, identify, and access risks and issues to properly prioritize and propose solutions; escalate complex issues when necessary
Anticipate and resolve issues
Develop, present, and defend conclusions, recommendations, and implementation plans
Recommend appropriate resources based on the phases of an assignment
Delegates work to assigned team members
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience
Has managed significant engagements
10+ years in a business/consulting environment. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree
7 years of experience focused on Utility Customer Experience, Customer Service and Billing, AMI, and Operational Technologies capabilities
Certified in Oracle CC&B
Experience conducting readiness assessments, evaluate results and present findings
Expertise developing a set of actionable and targeted project plans
Proven ability to be an active and visible coach to junior resources
Experience in other Utility Areas – Infrastructure, Distribution, Work and Asset Management
Work Environment/Physical Demands
Virtual position based in the United States with the ability to travel up to 50%
